Uttarakhand : There has been a decline in milk procurement in three districts in the state, the price increased by four rupees per liter

There has been a decline in milk procurement in three districts of the state. In order to stop the supply of milk to other states including Uttar Pradesh, the milk cooperative unions have increased the price of milk by Rs 4 per liter in the plain districts. Presently 1.80 lakh liters of milk is being procured daily through milk cooperatives.
Due to the problem of animal feed, the milk procurement has decreased by seven percent in the state as compared to last year. While the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh has seen a decrease of 40 per cent. Due to being connected to Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar district of Uttar Pradesh, due to the outflow of milk from here, milk procurement has decreased in the state. There has been a decrease in milk procurement by 10 thousand per day in Dehradun district, eight thousand in Udham Singh Nagar and about three thousand liters in Haridwar district.
The milk cooperatives of the state have increased the price by Rs 4 in three districts to stop the supply of milk from outside the states. Earlier, milk was procured from milk producers at Rs 38 per liter on behalf of the societies, which was increased to Rs 42.
Jaideep Arora, Assistant Director, Dairy Development Department said that the decrease in milk procurement is also one of the reasons for the rising prices of cattle feed. To increase milk procurement in three plains districts, the price has been increased by Rs. Milk producers from Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts were supplying milk to Uttar Pradesh. An attempt was made to stop the supply of milk to the outside states by increasing the price. Presently 1.80 lakh liters of milk is being procured every day.
