If Ram Subhag Singh becomes CIC, then the post of Chief Secretary will become vacant in the state.

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh has joined the race for the post of Chief Information Commissioner (CIC). After the application for the post of CIC by the Administrative Reforms (AR) Department, Ram Subhag Singh has also applied for the post. Now the total applications for this post are 51.

The new CIC of the state will be selected by the High Power Committee headed by the Chief Minister. Even before this, on June 25, the meeting of the High Power Committee was held at Peterhof, Shimla. In this, after discussing 48 applications for CIC, the Chief Minister had postponed the selection saying that some people wanted to apply more. So give extra time.

The market of discussions about the new Chief Secretary is also hot

After this the AR department invited fresh applications on July 4. Now after the application of the Chief Secretary, speculations are being made that if the government makes Ram Subhag Singh as CIC, then the post of Chief Secretary will become vacant in the state. After Ram Subhag Singh of 1987 batch, ACS Nisha Singh of the same batch, Ali Raza Rizvi of 1988 batch, ACS Sanjay Gupta and ACS RD Dhiman, who are on central deputation, are the senior most.

On the basis of seniority, Nisha Singh is the senior most

RD Dhiman will retire this year, while Ram Nisha Singh will retire after two years and Sanjay Gupta after three years. Nisha Singh will be the frontrunner in the race for Chief Secretary on the basis of seniority. There is little hope of Rizvi returning from his central deputation. In such a situation, now the discussion has started that who will be the next Chief Secretary and CIC.

They have also applied

At present, many senior IAS, IPS, IFS, including ACS RD Dhiman, CM’s advisor RN Batta, former PCCF Dr. Savita, former DGP retired SR Mardi, besides many social workers, journalists, lawyers have also applied for CIC.

The post of CIC is vacant since June 30

The post of Chief Information Officer in Himachal is vacant since June 30. Narendra Chauhan has retired from the post of CIC on June 30 after completing his five-year tenure. He was posted as CIC by former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. All the bureaucrats, advocates and social workers are trying to crown this post because the CIC gets the same facilities as the judge of the Supreme Court.
