Uttarakhand: Every desire to contest Lok Sabha elections from Haridwar, said – don’t exercise hard for tickets, is Hazrat going to feed some flowers with Pritam?

These days the tug of war within the Congress is in the headlines in the politics of Uttarakhand and now the big question is arising whether there can be a breakdown in the party! The big reason for this question is believed to be the growing jugalbandi between former minister Harak Singh Rawat and former Leader of Opposition Pritam Singh. Both the leaders appeared together for the second consecutive day in the name of the meeting and during this, apart from his earlier statements, Harak Singh also openly declared that he is in the mood to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Harak Singh Rawat had earlier said that he would not contest the elections, but Harak, who reached Jairam Ashram in Haridwar on Tuesday, July 12, said that he would contest the Lok Sabha elections from Haridwar or Pauri. Talking about leaving the decision on the party, he clarified that earlier he had talked about not contesting the assembly elections. Pritam Singh, Deputy Leader of Opposition Bhuvan Kapri and other Congress leaders also appeared with Harak in the ashram, who had reached Harak’s house in Dehradun a day earlier to hold a meeting.
What is the factionalism and speculation about Harak-Pritam?
In fact, there are considered to be two factions within the Uttarakhand Congress. One is the faction of former Chief Minister Harish Rawat and the other is of Pritam Singh. After the defeat of the Congress in the recent assembly elections, the Pritam faction was sidelined from the assembly to the organization. In the past, Pritam was also seen aloof from Congress programs and press conferences. Now Pritam Singh is making claims to strengthen the party by accusing the Congress organization of being weak.
Here, Harak Singh was a minister in the previous BJP government, but just before the election, he was expelled from the BJP, then joined the Congress. Did not contest the election herself but got daughter-in-law Anukreethy Gusain ticket, although she could not win. After the defeat of the Congress in the elections, his role in the party is not seen fixed. In such a situation, the jugalbandi of Harak and Pritam, who are separated, is giving fuel to the speculation that whether the two together can form a new party? Or any strategy to bifurcate the Congress?
