Expensive travel in Uttarakhand, increase in freight fares apart from private commercial vehicles including roadways bus

There is another punch of inflation on the pocket of the common man, now travel in all types of private commercial vehicles including roadways buses and freight in goods vehicles in the state will become expensive from tomorrow. The State Transport Authority issued an order to increase the fare by 15 to 25 percent late on Friday evening.

Transporters will charge increased fare from Saturday. Servers are being updated in roadways buses and their fare will be about 20 percent more than private buses. For the first time in the state, the fare of ambulance, e-rickshaw and rental bike has also been fixed. The fare hike will be applicable only in the border area of ​​Uttarakhand.

The transport department on Friday evening fulfilled the long-standing demand of private transporters to increase the fare in the state. The State Transport Authority had given approval for the fare hike on Wednesday, but due to non-issuance of its notification, the transporters could not collect the increased fare.

The authority has increased the basic fare of private buses by 20 percent. The fare on plain routes will be Rs 1.28, while on mountain routes it will be Rs 1.83 per km per passenger. Earlier this fare was Rs 1.05 on plain route and Rs 1.50 per km per passenger on mountain route.

In roadways buses, the fare on plain routes will be Rs 1.53 while on mountain routes it will be Rs 2.19 per km per passenger. Till now this fare was Rs 1.26 per km on plain route and Rs 1.80 per km on hill route.

This fare is for ordinary buses. The fare for normal (three by two seater) AC buses will be one and a half times more than the basic fare, the fare of deluxe (two by two seater) AC bus will be 1.90 times more than the basic fare and the fare of super deluxe Volvo bus will be three times more. Taxi fare has increased according to the category of the vehicle.

Transport Secretary and Commissioner Arvind Hayanki said that the maximum fare of goods vehicles would be 40 paise per quintal per km on plain routes and 60 paise per quintal per km on mountain routes. If there is a complaint of charging more fare than the notification, action will be taken against the concerned transporter.

On the other hand, Deepak Jain, General Manager of Roadways said that the work of updating the new fare has been started. New fare will be charged in buses from Saturday morning. The new fares will have a greater impact on mountain routes. The increase in fares in buses going to Uttar Pradesh, Delhi or other states will be very less.
