The bench of the Supreme Court assembles at 10:30 and after that the hearing of cases begins, which continues till 4 pm. Meanwhile, there is a lunch break between one and two o’clock. However, contrary to this practice, Justice Lalit started hearing the case at 9.30 on Friday. His bench also includes Justices S Ravindra Bhat and Sudhanshu Dhulia.

Former Attorney General of the country and eminent lawyer Mukul Rohatgi, who appeared in a bail case, praised the bench for starting the proceedings before the stipulated time and said that I would like to say that this time is more appropriate to start the proceedings of the court. Is.

To this Justice Lalit replied that I have always been of the opinion that the court proceedings should start early. “Ideally we should start at 9 in the morning. Why can’t we start work at 9 am when seven children go to school in the morning,” he said.

Justice Lalit is set to become the Chief Justice in August this year. After the retirement of Chief Justice NV Ramana, he will be the Chief Justice from August 27 to November 8. He said that the bench of the Supreme Court should start at 9 and there should be a break of half an hour at 11.30. He further said that after this the hearing should start from 12 o’clock till 2 o’clock. This will give more time in the evening for fresh cases and cases that require lengthy hearings.
