Jagdeep Dhankhar will be NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate

The name of the Vice Presidential candidate was discussed in the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting on Saturday evening. BJP President JP Nadda announced the name of Jagdeep Dhankhar by holding a press conference. PM Narendra Modi also attended this meeting.  In the afternoon, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, Dhankhar had met Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday.

After the announcement of Jagdeep Dhankhar’s name, PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “Farmer son Jagdeep Dhankhar is known for his humility. He is knowledgeable about the Constitution. He has full knowledge of the functions of the legislature. He is the Governor. He  Always worked for the betterment of farmers, youth, women and the underprivileged. Glad that he is our Vice Presidential candidate. I am sure that as the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, he will guide the proceedings of the House with the aim of taking the country forward.  will do.”

Naidu’s humor will be remembered: Jairam Ramesh

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tweeted for current Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu after NDA announced the name of the Vice Presidential candidate. He wrote that Venkaiah Naidu’s humor and wit will be remembered.  Excited but still a good man after all this. He may be retiring but I know he will never tire.

Voting for the Vice Presidential election will be held on August 6

Interested candidates for the Vice Presidential election can file their nomination papers till July 19.  Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on July 20.  Candidates who have filed nomination for the Vice Presidential election will be able to withdraw their nomination papers till July 22.  Voting will be held on 6 August to choose the next Vice President of the country.

Votes will be cast on August 6 from 10 am to 5 pm to elect the Vice President.  After the completion of the voting process, the counting of votes will also take place on the same day and the results of the elections will also come.  If both the ruling party and the opposition parties agree on the name of a candidate for the post of Vice President and a consensus is reached, then voting will not be required.

In such a situation, the Vice-President can also be elected unopposed by consensus. However, it is unlikely to be seen. It is worth noting that the term of the current Vice President of the country, M Venkaiah Naidu, ends on August 10. Venkaiah Naidu’s term  Four days before its completion, it will be clear who will be the next Vice President of the country.
