Between July 1 and 10, four incidents of robbery and theft in the district were carried out by the military gang of Roorkee. The police have arrested four members of this gang.

The accused had carried out the incidents of robbery and theft in Selakui, Vasant Vihar, Premnagar and Sahaspur. In January this year, the same miscreants were also involved in the robbery done by taking a security guard hostage at Nimbus Academy located in Premnagar.

Speaking to reporters in his office on Sunday, Senior Superintendent of Police Dalip Singh Kunwar said that on July 1, two houses in Selakui and on July 4 in Sabhawala of Sahaspur and on July 9 a school in Naya village was robbed.

On July 2, the robbery was carried out in a house in the new Basti Gorakhpur in Vasant Vihar. These events were executed in the same manner. In such a situation, when the police investigated the links of all the four incidents, it was found that the military gang of Roorkee was involved in this.

This information also came to the fore that the gang leader, Fauji Nath alias Chimti, resident of Ghosipura Sapera Basti Pathri (Haridwar) is in Dehradun area along with his companions. In such a situation, a team of four police stations was deployed for the arrest of the accused.

One of these teams got information on Saturday that Fauji Nath is in T-State area of ​​Vasant Vihar along with his three companions. After this, Fauji Nath, Gopi Nath, Gaurav Nath and Buddhi alias Hrithik Nath were arrested from T-State area.

Fauji Nath and Gopi Nath are brother-in-law. On Sunday, the accused were produced in the court, from where they were sent to jail.

Used to do Reiki of houses in the guise of sadhus

The accused told that before committing the robbery and theft, he used to go to the respective houses on the pretext of asking for alms and donations in the guise of a monk and used to do Reiki. After this he used to go back to Haridwar.

There the day was fixed to carry out the event. Every day after the incident, he used to come to Dehradun by bus between three and four o’clock in the afternoon. They used to wait for night to reach the respective area.

They used to carry out incidents between 12 and one o’clock in the night. After this, they used to hide in or around the forest and reach the ISBT in the morning with the people going for walk. The accused used to use screwdrivers and iron sticks to break the locks etc. of the houses.

After executing the incident, they used to throw him in the forest itself. He was not using a mobile phone at the time of the incident.

Sarafs asked for identity cards, so they could not sell jewelry

A huge amount of looted and stolen jewelery has been found with the accused. Police said that the accused went to Haridwar and many other places to sell the jewellery, but everywhere they asked for identity cards. Fearing to be caught by the police, the accused did not give the identity card, due to which they could not even sell the jewellery.

Many cases from Pauri to Dehradun
