Uttarakhand : CM Dhami inspected the disaster control room, banned the leave of officers, employees

Monsoon rains are happening in Uttarakhand. Badra is raining heavily in the state. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in the state today, so orange and red alert have been issued as a warning. Due to rain, river drains can come in spate. There is also a possibility of landslides. In such a situation, people have to be very careful. According to the Uttarakhand Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rain in most places of the state even today. Especially in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar, Haridwar and Pithoragarh districts, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain at other places as well. Along with this, there may be lightning and strong showers with thunder. In view of this, schools have also been closed. Ghangaria, the main stop of the Valley of Flowers, just in front of the main market, the hill has broken down and fallen into the Lakshman Ganga. At first, slowly the sound of stones falling from the mountain was heard. After that suddenly half of the mountain broke down and started coming down. On the other hand, a day before in Champawat, the school bus was washed away by the water that came in the drain.
Amidst the heavy rain alert in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Disaster Control Room at the Secretariat and took stock of the situation in the state. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to remain alert in view of the possibility of heavy rains. Disaster preparedness should be regularly tested. Any deficiencies found should be rectified immediately. No officer’s mobile should be switched off. There will be no excuse in this. Strict action should be taken against the concerned for dereliction of duty. Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, Secretary Dr. Ranjit Sinha and other officers were present on the occasion.
CM gave these instructions by going to the disaster control room
- Officers should be alert, make corrections if deficiency is found
- Action will be taken if officers’ mobiles are switched off
- Check the supply of essential commodities
- Re-examine the identified buildings and locations
- Departmental Secretary and Head of Department should monitor their respective departments regularly in view of disaster
- In view of the disaster, the CM banned the long-term leave of the officers and employees
