Delhi : Lt Governor did not give permission to go to Singapore, Delhi CM said – I will definitely go to Singapore
Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Kumar Saxena has denied permission to Chief Minister Kejriwal to visit Singapore on August 1. The LG office said that the summit in which permission has been sought to participate is the Mayors Conference. The LG advised that this is the program of the mayor, the chief minister should not go into it. After this, Kejriwal has said that I do not agree with the advice of the Lieutenant Governor and will definitely go to Singapore. This is seen as a confrontation between the two. It is known that Kejriwal has been in conflict with the LG office in Delhi even before.
Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs
After LG’s refusal, Kejriwal has now written a letter to the Ministry of External Affairs to give permission to go to Singapore. He said that we are hopeful that the approval will be given, as this visit will make India proud in the Cities Summit of the world.
AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that Kejriwal was not being allowed to visit Singapore for fear of exposing the Centre’s fake model in international forums. He said that Narendra Modi is afraid of Arvind Kejriwal’s Delhi model.
A letter was also written to PM Modi
Arvind Kejriwal had asked the Center in this matter that ‘when a common citizen is free to go abroad, why can’t Arvind Kejriwal go? Kejriwal had said that ‘I am not a criminal, I am the elected Chief Minister’.
Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17 July. He had said in the letter that he has been waiting to go to Singapore for more than a month. Permission should be given to go abroad as soon as possible, because by participating in the World City Summit, they will be able to express their views and the country’s value will increase.
Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that I am angry over Kejriwal not getting permission to attend the conference to be held in Singapore on August 1. He said that Kejriwal is not being allowed to go to Singapore because of petty politics.
