Let us tell you that this week a report of Israeli news channel 13 TV News journalist Gil Tamariel’s visit to the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca was broadcast, on which there has been an uproar.  However, later the TV channel and the journalist publicly apologized for this.

Journalist Gill’s 10-minute documentary film was shot in several parts of Mecca.  During this, the Jewish journalist Gil also visited the Grand Mosque of Mecca and later he also reached Mount Arafat.

Tamari reported in Hebrew for this documentary. She also used the English language in several places so that it was not obvious that she was Israeli.

The Israeli journalist’s arrival in Mecca was heavily criticized on social media.  The hashtag ‘Jew in the harem’ was used on social media.

Israeli supporters are also criticizing it.  Saudi Arabian blogger Mohammed Saud, who is considered a supporter of Israel, also condemned Tamari’s visit to Mecca.

The Israeli government had also expressed displeasure over this matter.  Israel’s Regional Cooperation Minister Isavi Frege called the TV report of a Jewish Israeli journalist visiting Mecca as “stupid”.

He said that this would only hurt the prospects of Saudi Arabia-Israel efforts to normalize relations.
