Tension increased between Delhi and central government: AAP’s allegation – Police tore Kejriwal’s posters, forcibly put PM banners

The ongoing tension between Delhi and the central government is not taking the name of lessening. Now Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Sunday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not participate in the Van Mahotsav program as it has been politicised. He said that the Narendra Modi-led central government has tried to hijack the program of Asola Wildlife Sanctuary. The Lilli police put up banners with photographs of the prime minister at the venue on Saturday night.

Addressing a press conference, Rai said that the Delhi Police did this on the instructions received from the Prime Minister’s Office. Rai said, “Last night Delhi Police reached the venue and took over the entire area. They forcibly put up banners with pictures of PM Modi and tore the banners of the AAP government. Delhi Police has also warned people not to touch the banners with pictures of Modi.

Kejriwal will not attend Van Mahotsav

The Environment Minister said, ‘Police should ensure the safety of the people and should not put up banners of PM Modi’. He said that Jariwal was supposed to attend the event, but now he has decided not to participate in it. The minister said, ‘The program of the Kejriwal government has been converted into a political program of PM Modi. The Chief Minister of Delhi and I have now decided not to attend the program.

However, there has been no comment from the Delhi Police or the PMO on these allegations so far. A PTI report said that Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and Kejriwal were to attend the event and all preparations were made. Rai said the incident shows that Modi is afraid of Kejriwal. “Attempts are being made to defame our government. Satyendra Jain (Health Minister of Delhi) was arrested on false charges. Now a conspiracy is being hatched to arrest the Deputy Chief Minister (Manish Sisodia). The CM was supposed to go to Singapore but the file got stuck.
