Uttarakhand / Rudrapur : Two youths riding Scooty and bike died after being crushed by an uncontrolled truck

The speeding truck crushed two youths riding scooty and bike on Haldwani road late on Friday night. One person has been seriously injured. The truck driver who hit the truck is absconding from the spot.

Ramjit Sardar, a resident of Sanjaynagar Kheda, was coming back from Shaktifarm in a scooty with his partner Laxman on Friday night at around 10 pm on Haldwani Road in Kichha. According to family members, Shamshad, a resident of village Saijna, Daru, was coming back with his companions Aslam and Kamaluddin on a bike. According to the police, meanwhile, a truck coming from Kichha side trampled them. Scooty driver Ramjeet and bike driver Shamshad died due to this. Aslam, who was on the bike seriously injured, has been admitted to the ICU ward of a private hospital in Rudrapur. The rest of the riders survived safely.

Shamshad was returning after chopping wood
The relatives of Shamshad, a resident of Sainjna, Daru, told that they were three brothers. One of Shamshad’s brother had died earlier. At the same time, after Shamshad’s departure, only one brother was left. Shamshad was married and has two small children.

Relatives say that Shamshad used to work as a daily wager for wood harvesting. On Friday, Shamshad was coming back from Shantipuri with his companions after chopping wood.

On the other hand, the relatives of Ramjit, a resident of Kheda, told that he used to work as a policy agent. In connection with the policy, he used to go out of the city every day.

On Friday, Ramjit was coming back from Shaktifarm with Laxman, a resident of Kheda, in connection with his work. Ramjit is survived by wife and two children. On Saturday morning, the Sidkul outpost police conducted a Panchnama-filled post-mortem of both the dead. After this the body was handed over to their relatives. Kichha police say that the truck is being searched. However, no FIR has been registered in the case so far.
