Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Two heroin smugglers caught, 115 grams of goods recovered, 2 arrested in Haldwani too
Uttarakhand STF team has arrested a supply history-sheeter dealer of Dehradun including vicious drug smuggler Nazim of Uttar Pradesh Bareilly from Raipur area as part of the operation of drug smugglers in the capital Dehradun. During the joint action of STF and Dehradun Police, Rs 1 lakh in cash and 115 grams of heroin have been recovered from the possession of Najim, an active drug smuggler from Bareilly and Amarkant alias Dola, a local smuggler from Raipur. The value of heroin recovered from the possession of both the smugglers has been estimated in lakhs.
Interrogation of arrested smugglers about their network
According to the STF, Nazim, a resident of Bareilly, was smuggling drugs for a long time in districts like Dehradun and Haridwar. Through this, consignments of drugs were supplied through the supply chain in Dehradun Raipur area with the help of his network of local smuggler Amarkant alias Dola, who is a history-sheeter of Raipur area. STF and Nehru Colony Police are interrogating Bareilly’s vicious drug smuggler Nazim and his associate Amarkant about other smugglers.
Smack of 60 lakhs recovered in Haldwani
Nainital Police has also taken major action against drug addicts. During the checking operation, Lalkuan Kotwali police have recovered a huge amount of smack from two youths residing in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. A scooty has also been recovered from the accused. SSP Pankaj Bhatt said that during the checking near Lalkuan, two big smugglers have been arrested with 607 grams of smack.
Drug smugglers are residents of Bareilly
The arrested smugglers are residents of Sheeshgarh in Bareilly district who were smuggling smack for a long time. Both these smugglers used to bring smack from Bareilly and supply it in the mountains. During the interrogation of the police, it was found that the accused were going to supply this smack to Almora. The police have also recovered the scooty used in smuggling. The value of the caught smack is being told more than 60 lakhs. The names of the arrested accused are Sajid and Dilshad, who are residents of Sheeshgarh Bareilly.
SSP Pankaj Bhatt said that both the arrested accused are big drug dealers and themselves prepare the smack. The police was looking for the accused for a long time. The SSP said that continuous action is being taken against drugs in Nainital district.
