Uttarakhand / Dehradun: One and a half lakh fine on four liquor shops, liquor traders were in relief, new District Magistrate broke the confusion

Liquor traders were in relief after the transfer of Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar from the post of District Magistrate. They felt that now they will get the exemption of over rating. However, the new District Magistrate Sonika broke this illusion and indicated strict action. On the instructions of the District Magistrate, the team of Excise Department, while conducting a surprise inspection of liquor shops, imposed a fine of Rs 1.60 lakh.
Under the leadership of District Excise Officer Rajiv Singh, various shops in the city were investigated. In the shop located at Kishannagar Chowk on Chakrata Road, a recovery of Rs 10 more was found on the bottle of liquor. At the same time, over rating was also found in the country liquor shop located in Premnagar. A fine of Rs 50,000 each was imposed on both the shops.

Apart from this, the billing machine was found defective at the English liquor shop located in Premnagar. Also, the rate list was not pasted outside the shop and the flax for not over rating was also not found hanging. On which a fine of Rs 35,000 was imposed on the shop.
Removed the flex for not over rating
At the same time, stock register update was not found in the shop located at Danda Lakhund and billing machine was not available. From here also the flex for not over rating was removed. Therefore, a fine of Rs 25,000 was imposed on the shop. District Magistrate Sonika said that over rating of liquor will not be tolerated. Excise officers have been instructed to take strict action against arbitrari liquor traders.
