Uttarakhand : Health department issued alert regarding monkeypox, will keep an eye on those returning from foreign travel

The health department has also become alert about monkeypox. The SOP will be issued by the department on Tuesday on the guidelines of the Central Government. The department has instructed to keep a watch on the symptoms of monkeypox in those returning from foreign travel as a precautionary measure.

After receiving a case of monkeypox in Kerala and Delhi, the Health Department has alerted all the districts. The department directed that the people returning after traveling to the monkeypox affected countries should be monitored. If symptoms of monkeypox are found in anyone, then isolation should be done after taking samples and sending them for examination. Last month, on the basis of suspicion, the department had sent a sample of a person from Haridwar for examination, which came negative.
