Big relief to Satyendra Jain’s wife Poonam, bail on personal bond

Rouse Avenue court on Saturday granted interim bail to Poonam Jain, wife of Delhi government health minister Satyendar Jain, arrested in a money laundering case. Poonam Jain is a co-accused in the case. The court had issued summons against him taking cognizance of the chargesheet filed recently.
Special Judge Geetanjali Goel has granted interim bail to Poonam Jain on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and another surety amount. The court has directed him to appear for the next hearing of the case on August 20.
The court had on July 29, taking cognizance of the chargesheet filed by the ED, said that there was sufficient evidence to prosecute 10 including Satyendar Jain, wife Poonam Jain, on charges of money laundering. There are four companies among the accused. During the hearing, all the accused in the case appeared before the court. At the same time, Satyendra Jain appeared through video conferencing due to hospitalization.
Poonam Jain’s counsel while presenting the bail application said that her client has been implicated in the fake case and there is no evidence against her. He said a charge sheet has been filed in the case and the court has taken cognizance. Apart from this, all the documents are with the ED. In that case the bail should be accepted.
