LG’s big action amid the fight on liquor in AAP-BJP, 11 officers including the then Excise Commissioner suspended

The tussle continues between the Kejriwal government and LG VK Saxena over the liquor policy in Delhi. On Saturday, while Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia targeted former LG Anil Baijal, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena attacked the then Excise Commissioner of Delhi. 11 officials, including Aarav Gopi Krishna, have been suspended for lapse in implementing the excise policy.While BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has welcomed the decision of LG, BJP leader Sambit Patra said that Arvind Kejriwal has implemented the new liquor policy. There was a mistake in it. While the LG has acted according to the rules.
Taking action on Saturday, LG VK Saxena has ordered suspension and disciplinary proceedings against the then Delhi Excise Commissioner Arva Gopi Krishna and the then Deputy Commissioner Anand Kumar Tiwari. Along with this, suspension orders have been given against 9 other officers of the Excise Department.
The LG has taken this order in view of the serious lapse in the implementation of the excise policy on the part of the concerned authorities. This includes finding irregularities in tendering and providing post tender benefits to selected vendors.
What did Manish Sisodia say?
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia accused former Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal of changing his stand on opening liquor shops in unauthorized areas. Also said that the government was harmed by stopping the new excise policy in Delhi. Asking the question, Manish Sisodia said that on whose behest did the LG take this decision. Sisodia said that he has sent the details of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Sambit Patra said – Kejriwal messed up in the new liquor policy
BJP leader Sambit Patra countered the allegations of Manish Sisodia. He said that the Delhi LG has worked according to the rules. He said that neither the blacklisted companies could be given tenders nor they could open the contracts, but the blacklisted companies had also opened the contracts. He said that even the cartel is not allowed in the tender, but it was also allowed by Manish Sisodia. He said that Kejriwal has made a mistake in the new liquor policy.
Manoj Tiwari said – punishment for the sin of bad policy is certain.

BJP has retaliated after Manish Sisodia’s allegation. Delhi State BJP President Adesh Gupta said that the Delhi government had brought a new liquor policy, the committee formed for this was chaired by Manish Sisodia and Satendra Jain. The money gained from liquor was used in the Punjab elections.
