An elderly man jumped into the Saryu river near the Saman temple. The local people jumped into the river to save them. They were pulled out of the river. It is alleged that the old man died when the ambulance did not arrive. Police have taken the dead body and kept it in the mortuary. The police is trying to identify the deceased.

On Tuesday, around 4.30 pm, an elderly man jumped into the Saryu river near the Saman Gwal temple in Bilaunasera. He started drowning and the people around were standing there. Local residents Jagdish Prasad and Balkrishna jumped into the river to save the elderly. He took them out and called 108 ambulance. It is alleged that when the ambulance did not arrive, the elderly man died in agony. Social worker Balam said that every effort was made to save him. But his attempt failed. He was breathing after being taken out of the water. Had the ambulance arrived on time, they could have been saved. Here, Kotwal Jagdish Dhakriyal said that the body has been taken into custody. Not yet identified. He has been kept in the mortuary. Post-mortem will be done. Here, senior of 108 ambulances Narendra Chauhan said that Bageshwar has two ambulances. Both the referrals have gone to Haldwani with the patient. Banlekh’s ambulance has been substituted. She went to pick up another patient. Due to which it got delayed. At present, ambulances are operating on long routes due to the high number of referral cases.
