Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Four accused of fraud in the name of selling gold watch arrested, this is how it was revealed
Police station Kotwali has busted an interstate gang who cheated by cheating in the name of selling gold watch. Along with this, four members of interstate gang have also been arrested from Nainital in the case. Police have recovered gold jewelery including cash from the accused.
SP City said that on August 25, Ravindra Prasad resident Luniya Mohalla had lodged a complaint that on August 24, when he had gone for his personal work near Chaat Wali Gali Ghantaghar, unknown persons trapped him in their words to sell a gold watch. While cheating in the name, he cheated by giving him a fake gold watch instead of his real gold chain. On the basis of Tahrir, a case was registered against unknown accused at the police station Kotwali. A similar incident was carried out on 30 May also. The victim Indrapal resident Mohabbewala Dehradun was cheated of Rs 90000 by unidentified persons by giving a fake gold watch. After which a team was formed to arrest the accused. The police team scanned the CCTV cameras installed around the spot. After which a suspicious Swift car and four suspicious persons appeared according to the description of the victim. Those who were traced by the police team team. On the basis of the registration number of the vehicle, the details of the owner of the vehicle were obtained after getting information from the service center of Maruti Suzuki, mobile number etc. Based on the CCTV footage and mobile number location, the car owner was in Dehradun at the time of the incident.
The suspect person and the car were traced by the police team from the CCTV footage, then after the incident all the suspects went out of Dehradun. Those who were traced by the police team through CCTV cameras and mobile surveillance were chased while checking the CCTV cameras of Haridwar, Najibabad, Kashipur. It was learned that all the suspects are staying in Hotel Shashi located in Tallital district of Nainital. Taking immediate action, the police team reached Nainital Tallital and arrested the four accused Delhi residents Kashmiri Lal, Sunil Agarwal, Narendra Kumar and Ajay from outside the hotel with yellow metal chain, ring, watch and cash.
SP City Sarita Doval told that all the accused used to cheat by going to different states. In which he used to mark elderly people in crowded places by luring them in his words and luring them to sell fake gold watches as genuine. Along with this, they also used to do the work of cheating money and jewellery. During the incident, the gang leader Kashmiri Lal would talk about selling the fake gold watch as genuine. Sunil Agarwal calls himself a goldsmith. Others Narendra Kumar, Ajay talk about buying a fake watch by becoming a customer. Due to which the victim gets caught in their trap and gets greedy and buys a fake gold watch.
