Uttarakhand / Uttarkashi : Charas worth 55 thousand caught

Uttarkashi Kotwali Police has arrested a Delhi man with 540 grams of illegal charas. The market price of the seized charas is said to be around Rs 55,000. The police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act.

SP Arpan Yaduvanshi said on Wednesday that the joint team of Kotwali Uttarkashi and SOG under the leadership of Inspector-in-Charge Dinesh Kumar, during the night checking campaign, Devendra Kumar Sharma son Kanhaiya Lal 62 years, resident, Rohini, from near Kuteti Devi Temple Lambgaon Road. Arrested New Delhi with 540 grams of illegal charas. During interrogation, he told that he himself consumes charas. Sometimes he also does the work of selling charas when he needs money. He comes to the hilly areas to buy charas at cheap prices. The SP has announced a cash prize of Rs 1000 for the police team. The police team had constables Umesh Negi, Neeraj Rawat, Govind Gusain, Kashish Bhatt, Prashant Rana etc.
