Uttarakhand : CM Dhami’s committee on Uniform Civil Code will go to different districts and discuss with different classes and communities
The Expert Committee constituted for Uniform Civil Code is going to start a comprehensive consultation campaign on this subject. It is being started from college-university. Suggestions have started coming to the committee. The sixth round of the committee meeting was held in New Delhi on Saturday under the chairmanship of Justice Ranjana Desai. In which all the members participated, it was decided in the meeting that the committee would go to different districts of Uttarakhand this month and discuss with different sections and communities. During this, the committee will make public information about the problems being faced in the judicial system of the country due to personal law as well as the debate in the Constituent Assembly on the Uniform Civil Code, taking the point of view of the then leaders.
It is being started with the youth, for this the members of the committee will communicate with the youth of private and government universities of Uttarakhand. Opinions will also be taken from the communities. Meanwhile, suggestions have started coming to the committee. Till Saturday evening, 86 suggestions have been received through online medium itself. In the meantime, the committee started the work of drafting the code. Members Justice Pramod Kohli, Shatrughan Singh, Sarekha Dangwal and Manu Gaur attended the meeting.
