Uttar Pradesh : Rape and murder case registered in Lakhimpur case, dead bodies of Dalit sisters found hanging from tree; 4 suspects in custody

In Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district, there was a ruckus last night after two sisters of a Dalit community were found hanging from a tree. In this case, the family has accused of forcibly taking away the girls and killing them. According to Additional SP Arun Kumar Singh, Lakhimpur Kheri, a case of rape, murder and child abuse has been registered in the Lakhimpur incident. One named and three unknown accused have been mentioned in the FIR. The girls’ mother has told the media and the police that the accused forcibly took their daughters on a motorcycle.

The girls’ mother has alleged that when she tried to stop the accused, the accused assaulted her. The family and villagers later searched for the girls and found their bodies hanging from a tree. The woman has alleged that her daughters were raped and then murdered. The accused have been charged under IPC sections related to murder and rape and under POCSO.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Lucknow Range Inspector General of Police Laxmi Singh said the girls were found hanging from their own dupatta and there were no injury marks. The post-mortem of the bodies is yet to be done. On Wednesday late night, the villagers and the family also created a ruckus and protest. After a heated argument with the villagers, the police was able to send the bodies for post-mortem.

According to Additional SP Arun Kumar Singh, Lakhimpur Kheri, cases have been registered against Chhotu and three unknowns of the same village in the Tahrir of the family members in the police station. They have been accused of kidnapping, rape and murder of sisters. While giving information about the post-mortem of the dead bodies, the police officials say that the forensic team will investigate all the aspects. Also, Additional SP Arun Kumar Singh, Lakhimpur Kheri said that the police have started interrogation by taking Chhotu and three others into custody after the protest of the villagers late at night.
