Police arrested the mother-in-law and sister-in-law, accused of burning the woman with a hot pan, beating her, not providing food and keeping her imprisoned. Both crossed all limits of cruelty and burnt the woman’s body from about 20 places. When the family members of the woman came to rescue her, she was found imprisoned in the kitchen without clothes.

Saraswati Devi, mother of the victim Preeti, resident of Rindol village of Dharmandal in Jakhanidhar block, informed the police about the matter by giving a complaint. Told that Preeti was married 12 years ago to Anoop Jagudi, resident of Jeevangarh, Vikasnagar. For the past one week, he was calling his daughter, but her mobile was switched off. On 16 September, on the apprehension of something untoward, Saraswati Devi along with her son Jitendra Raturi reached the daughter’s in-laws’ house, Jeevangarh, Vikasnagar. Here the mother-in-law flatly refused to meet Preeti. When he entered the house forcibly, Preeti was found lying in the kitchen in a semi-naked condition. About 20 burn marks were found on his body. She was not in a position to say anything. On this he brought Preeti to Rindol.

Such death given to husband: At night, the wife tied her feet to her and made many blows to the sick person, said – she could not bear the pain of a person sleeping inside the house at night time, about a month ago, in the town of Kaudiyaganj of Akrabad police station area of Aligarh. The police has disclosed the murder case on Saturday.

He told that Preeti’s husband Anoop is mentally weak. Due to poor financial condition, Preeti was being tortured for the past several years. On repeated assurances that this would not happen, he used to leave Preeti in-laws’ house, but her physical harassment did not stop. SSP Navneet Singh said that on the basis of Tahrir, a case has been registered against the victim’s mother-in-law Subhadra Devi, sister-in-law Jaya Jaguri and father-in-law Devendra Dutt. It is being told that Devendra Dutt is posted in the army. After health check-up, he has been sent to Dehradun for treatment. The mother-in-law and sister-in-law of the named victim have been arrested from Jeevangarh Vikasnagar after registering a case under various sections including dowry harassment, attempt to murder.

The victim told that her mother-in-law and sister-in-law were torturing her for a long time. He used to burn it with a hot tawa. Sometimes hot water was poured on it. No one could hear his scream, so he used to stuff a cloth in his mouth. She did not give food for many days, she was somehow living by eating leftover food in false plates. Told that along with Preeti’s two sons and a daughter, her husband also tried to save her, but the husband could not do anything due to his mental weakness. Told that even when father-in-law used to come on leave, he also used to beat him.

Women’s commission gave instructions for strict action

Taking cognizance of the matter, the State Commission for Women has directed the police to take strict action against the accused. Commission chairperson Kusum Kandwal said that the victim woman has been brutally assaulted by taking her hostage. His body has been burnt from place to place. The chairperson of the commission said that the victim has been admitted to Coronation Hospital for treatment.

Admitted to mistake but continued cruelty to Preeti

Preeti’s demand Saraswati Devi told that her husband Chiranjilal is in bed due to serious illness. Due to financial constraints and threats from the in-laws of the daughter, she was forced to bear the cruelty of her in-laws on her daughters. In the year 2017 also, the in-laws had tortured the daughter, but then she accepted her mistake and assured not to commit such a mistake in future. But despite this, the cruel behavior of Preeti continued.

At the same time, when the village panchayat members Budhiram and Ravindra Joshi put Preeti’s video on social media, the villagers decided to get justice for the daughter. On Monday, Dhalwala Municipality President Roshan Raturi, District Panchayat member Balwant Rawat, Pradhan Manoj Raturi, Guru Prasad Bhatt and the people of the village along with the victim’s family came to meet the SSP. He demanded strict action against the culprits. The SSP has asked to send the victim to Dehradun Coronation for treatment after conducting a medical examination. Those who met the SSP included Mohan Singh Rawat, Laxmi Prasad Bhatt, Omprakash Raturi, Sandeep Raturi, Mansaram, Daulat Rawat and Prakash Rana etc.

Preeti’s screams remained imprisoned in the high wall of the house

Tehri police also came in shock after seeing more than 20 marks of burns on the body of Preeti, who was suffering atrocities after marriage in Line Jeevangarh. Taking quick action, the police took the mother-in-law and sister-in-law into custody. The police have also taken Preeti’s three children with them to Tehri. It is being told that even the people around Preeti were not aware of this heart-wrenching incident. His screams could never come out from the high walls of the house.

Preeti, who got married in a two-storey house located near the Gauri Shankar temple of Line Jeevangarh, was subjected to atrocities for twelve consecutive years. ..and oppression is also such that the soul trembles after seeing it. More than twenty marks inflicted on Preeti’s body from a pan heated by fire are a testimony to the fact that all limits of cruelty were crossed with her. Surprisingly, for a long time the woman was subjected to cruelty and even the people living nearby could not know about it. When people living near Preeti’s in-laws’ house were talked about in this regard, they told that when Tehri police came on Tuesday morning, they came to know about such a big incident.

Vikasnagar Kotwali in-charge Shankar Singh Bisht told that the victim’s husband Anoop Jagudi and his younger brother Amit are mentally ill. Apart from this, the woman’s father-in-law Devendra Jagudi is in the army who rarely comes to the house. The woman has three small children, who have been taken by the Tehri police along with the woman’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law. He told that at present there is no other person at home other than the husband and brother-in-law of the mentally ill woman, with whom to talk about the incident.
