CM Dhami reviews AYUSH and AYUSH education department, instructed officials to develop better wellness centers in the state

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami while reviewing the Department of AYUSH and AYUSH Education at the Secretariat directed the officers to develop some better wellness centers in the state. AYUSH tourism should be promoted. He said that the land of Uttarakhand is the land of AYUSH. Along with promoting AYUSH in the state, it should also be given wide publicity. Ayurveda and Ayush are our ancient medical systems, it is necessary to promote them. The Chief Minister said that a target has been set to make Uttarakhand drug-free by 2025. In this, a detailed plan should be made about what the Department of AYUSH can help through AYUSH therapy.

The Chief Minister directed the officers of the Department of AYUSH that the system of providing AYUSH medical consultation to the general public should be started soon through tele-medicine portal e-Sanjeevani. All necessary arrangements should be ensured in the AYUSH health and wellness centers being built under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Under the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana, a proposal should be made to provide medical reimbursement to the golden card holders who get treatment in Ayush hospital.

Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that daily yoga is being practiced through 11 AYUSH wellness centers in the state. Under the School Health Testing Program, health camps are organized from time to time for the treatment of homeopathic medicine by examining school students. A 50-bed hospital building has been constructed in Haldwani. In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Radha Raturi, Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, S.N. Pandey, officers of AYUSH and AYUSH Education Department were present.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the Sustainable Development Goals Signature Campaign on the 7th anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals at the Secretariat and released a video related to SDGs. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that to achieve these 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, the departments will have to move forward as per the roadmap. Public participation is also important to achieve these goals. Public cooperation and full cooperation of social institutions and various institutions should also be taken. The Chief Minister said that inclusive development is necessary with social, economic and environmental balance. He said that Uttarakhand’s ranking has improved in the Sustainable Development Goals, but more efforts are needed to bring the state to the first position.

In 2018, Uttarakhand was ranked 10th in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, while the state is currently ranked fourth. The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has a wealth of natural resources. These natural resources have to be put to good use. Uttarakhand also has immense potential in the field of industries. The Sustainable Development Goals are a bold and universal agreement to end all forms of poverty by 2030 that will create an equal, just and secure world for all. For this, 17 Sustainable Development Goals have been set.
