Uttar Pradesh : Akhilesh met Governor, said – false cases are being filed against Azam Khan

A delegation of Samajwadi Party led by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav visited the Raj Bhavan on Friday and met Governor Anandiben Patel. He submitted a memorandum alleging harassment against Azam Khan. Speaking to the media after meeting Governor Anandiben Patel, Akhilesh Yadav said, “We have apprised the Governor about the continuous injustice being done to Azam Khan and the fake cases being registered against him. We have requested him that justice should be done to Azam Khan.” SP National President Akhilesh Yadav said that we told the Governor that the government is continuously registering fake cases against him (Azam Khan) so that he remains in jail. He is sick and has health problems. He had to stay in jail even during Kovid. He said that our request to the Governor is that no injustice should be done to Khan.

During the ongoing session of the state assembly on Wednesday, members of the Samajwadi Party had alleged that Azam Khan was implicated in false cases. During this, the SP leaders created a ruckus, due to which the proceedings of both the houses were disrupted.

Khan, who was released from Sitapur jail earlier this year after being granted interim bail by the Supreme Court, faces around 90 cases including corruption and theft. Azam Khan was on Tuesday against him for allegedly stealing a cleaning machine of Rampur Municipality. Another case was registered on charges of being used for the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University established by him.

Let me tell you, it was not long before the news of Azam Khan’s displeasure with Akhilesh Yadav was in the news. Akhilesh never visited Azam Khan during his stay in Sitapur jail. After coming out of jail, Azam Khan also kept expressing his displeasure with Akhilesh Yadav in gestures, but Akhilesh Yadav did not give any statement about Azam Khan in the midst of all this. Two days ago, he had raised the issue of investigation of Azam’s university in the Vidhan Sabha as well.
