Uttarakhand: Two villages of Tehri will be developed as model villages, Chinese actor Dev Raturi will adopt them

The Uttarakhand government is running a scheme to adopt their village on behalf of Uttarakhand migrants under the initiative of the Overseas Uttarakhand Cell, so that the migrant Uttarakhandis can develop their village in collaboration with the state government. In this sequence, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi reviewed the village adoption scheme at the Secretariat today. Meanwhile, hotelier and actor Dev Raturi, living in China, has been given consent to adopt Sunar and Kamaria Saun villages of Bhilangana block of Tehri.

Dev Raturi had expressed his desire to adopt

Let us tell you that on March 5, 2024, Chief Minister Dhami had discussed the contribution of migrants in the development of the state virtually with the migrant Uttarakhandis living in 16 countries. During the virtual meeting, the Chief Minister had discussed with the affluent Uttarakhand migrants about adopting villages in remote areas and contributing to their development. On which Dev Raturi had expressed his desire to provide financial assistance for the education of children deprived of education and hospitality related employment to unemployed youth in China.

District administration will work together with Dev Raturi

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi has directed the District Magistrate of Tehri district to work together with Dev Raturi on the action plan prepared to develop Kamariya Son and Sunargaon as model villages. Also, special emphasis has been laid on effective coordination of government schemes and individual efforts in the villages adopted by Uttarakhand migrants.

Kamariya Son and Sunargaon will be developed as model villages

The Chief Secretary directed the officials that along with construction work in these villages, special attention should also be given to economic development, human resource development, training, home stay, organic farming, local products and cultivation of millets. Along with developing Kamariya Son and Sunargaon of Tehri as model villages, instructions were given to work on the action plan to make these villages completely self-reliant. A nodal officer will also be appointed for this.

100% literacy campaign will be run

CS has given instructions to educate the elders by providing 100% solar panel coverage in these villages, developing homestays and running 100% literacy campaign, cultivating local millets like Mandua, Jhangora on the vacant land of the village. Along with this, instructions have been given to organize collective feasts from time to time in the Panchayat house to encourage the tradition of collective dialogue in the villages and to work to stop migration by creating livelihood opportunities in the village itself.

Team formed for model villages

CS Radha Raturi instructed the Tehri District Magistrate to immediately form a team and send it to these two villages to develop Kamariya Son and Sunargaon as model villages. The implementation of the action plan to make Kamariya Son and Sunargaon model villages has to be completed as soon as possible, so that all the migrant Uttarakhand residents can get inspiration to adopt their respective villages and contribute to their development.
