The meeting of the general body and management executive of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan, Dehradun was held under the chairmanship of Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal

The meeting of the general assembly and management executive of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan, Dehradun was held in the Secretariat on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal. During the meeting, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal said that Uttarakhand has been the land of Gods as well as the land of intellectuals, scholars and litterateurs. He said that we have to work on the promotion of local dialects along with the official language.
Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal said that Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan should start a Life Time Achievement Award for litterateurs. He said that by linking it with tourism, the villages of famous litterateurs of the state should be developed as Sahitya Gram, so that domestic and foreign tourists associated with literature writing can get its benefit. These model villages should be operated through a committee formed at the local level. He also directed to form a committee to work on compilation and research of epic folk tales etc. in the local languages of Uttarakhand.
The Cabinet Minister said that children’s literature should also be included under Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman. He said that in accordance with the Education Policy 2020, Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan should coordinate with SCERT and include stories, short stories and dramas in local dialects in the curriculum of young children. He said that under the Uttarakhand Sahitya Gaurav Samman, the honor amount for such senior litterateurs who have done notable work in the field of literature should be increased from one lakh to Rs 1,51,000 (one lakh fifty one thousand). A debutant will be given an honor of 50 thousand and a general one lakh. Earlier, a debutant was given a prize of 50 thousand and all the rest were given a prize of one lakh. The Cabinet Minister also directed to provide assistance to budding litterateurs in book publication.
The Cabinet Minister also directed to prepare the rules and structure of the department soon. He said that the rules for the awards and honors given by Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan should be prepared soon. During the meeting, consent was given to the proposal to honour the talented students of Uttarakhand Secondary Education Council, Uttarakhand Madrasa Board and Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on 14 September.
On this occasion, Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Vinod Raturi, Director Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan Mrs. Swati Bhadoria, Vice Chancellor Doon University Dr. Surekha Dangwal, Vice Chancellor Uttarakhand Sanskriti University Prof. Dinesh Chandra Shastri, Narendra Singh Negi, Dr. Sudharani Pandey, Dr. Harisuman Bisht, Prof. Dev Singh Pokhariya, Prof. Naveen Chandra Lohani, Prof. Mridula Jugran, Dr. Hayat Singh Rawat and Kaustubhanand Chandola along with other senior members of the management executive were present.
