Maharashtra cadre IPS officer Rashmi Shukla, who is facing charges in the illegal phone tapping case, met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Delhi on Thursday. After this meeting, Rashmi Shukla has once again come into the limelight. It is being said that he may return to Mumbai. 1988 batch IPS Rashmi Shukla is currently posted as Additional Director General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Hyderabad. Three FIRs are registered against him in Mumbai for illegal phone tapping and leaking of confidential documents. Apart from this, he had met at the official residence of State Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai on August 18.

Last year, he was accused of illegally tapping the phones of some Shiv Sena and NCP leaders and persons involved in the MVA government. Apart from this, the then Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis was also accused of leaking a confidential report on alleged corruption in police transfers.

Meaning of meeting
IPS Rashmi Shukla currently has 3 years to retire. In such a situation, she wants to return to her home cadre Maharashtra in Mumbai. If a top leader of the Shinde faction is to be believed, then she can come to an important post in the Mumbai Police Force. Let us tell you that he has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court to quash the FIR registered against him. Not only this, the present government of Maharashtra is also in favor of his return. At present, there is speculation that Rashmi Shukla can be made the Police Commissioner of Mumbai.

At the same time, Maharashtra’s School Education Minister and Shinde faction spokesperson Deepak Kesarkar has called it just a courtesy call.
