Clean Ganga’s work is a dust in the eyes, mission only money distribution machine: Allahabad High Court

The Allahabad High Court has said that the work of the National Mission for Clean Ganga is a dust in the eyes. The court said that this mission has become a mere money distribution machine. Whether the Ganga is being cleaned with the money of its budget, it is neither being monitored nor any work is visible at the ground level.
The remarks were made by a full bench of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal, Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta and Ajit Kumar in view of the situation that arose during the hearing in the Ganga Pollution case seeking details of the budget of the mission. The court asked whether the work was done from the budget of crores of rupees spent for cleaning Ganga under this mission or not, it did not get any answer. Earlier, as soon as the hearing started, the court sought information in turn on the affidavits of various boards and departments related to the mission.
