Maharashtra : Did not wear burqa and asked for divorce and got death in return; Iqbal stabs Rupali with a knife
A case of a man murdering his Hindu wife in Mumbai for not following Muslim customs and refusing to wear a burqa has come to light. In Mumbai’s Chembur area, a man named Iqbal Mahmood Sheikh killed his Hindu wife Rupali on Monday night because she was not following Muslim customs. Apart from this, Rupali had sought divorce from Iqbal and did not even give custody of the children. Enraged by this, Iqbal carried out the brutal murder. At present, the police of Tilaknagar police station has arrested Iqbal and started investigation into the matter. The incident has created a stir in the area.
Murder accused Iqbal Sheikh and Rupali had a love marriage three years ago. Within a few days of marriage, she came to stay at Iqbal’s house. Rupali was Hindu and even after marriage she was not following Muslim customs. This enraged Iqbal and his family. It is alleged that there was pressure on Rupali from his side to wear a burqa too. But Rupali did not listen to him and because of this, there was a rift in the family every day. Meanwhile she also gave birth to a son. But due to pressure and quarrels from Iqbal and family, Rupali started living separately six months back.
Iqbal ran away with a knife on the way, died on the spot
During this too, Iqbal and Rupali continued to talk on the phone, but there was always an argument between the two about following Muslim customs. According to the report of ABP Marathi, Iqbal Sheikh had called Rupali to meet him at Nagewadi on PL Lokhande Marg in Chembur on Monday evening. During this, Rupali demanded divorce from Iqbal. But citing his son, Iqbal said that he will not divorce. After that there was an altercation between them. After this, Iqbal took him to a nearby street and ran away with a knife on the way.
Iqbal Sheikh did second marriage to Rupali
Seriously injured in this attack, Rupali died on the spot. When the local people informed the police about the incident, Tilaknagar police reached the spot. The body of the deceased Rupali has been sent to Rajawadi Hospital for post-mortem. Tilaknagar police arrested the accused Iqbal in no time. Rupali and Iqbal have a two-year-old son. Please tell that Rupali was Iqbal’s second wife. Iqbal divorced his first wife because he did not have children.
