Uttar Pradesh / Noida: Allahabad HC bans demolition of Grand Omaxe Society till October 20

The Allahabad High Court has stayed the demolition action of the Authority against illegal construction and encroachment in Grand Omaxe Society of Noida. This ban has been imposed till the 20th of the next month. Earlier on Friday, the Noida Authority had removed illegal construction and encroachment from the front of several flats in Grand Omaxe Society. The people living in the society also opposed this action of the authority.

However, before this action, the authority had given 48 hours to the people of the society so that in the meantime they can remove the encroachment and illegal construction from the front of their houses themselves. But the society did not remove the illegal construction and encroachment even after the ultimatum of the authority, then the officials of the authority came to remove it with bulldozers. However, the authority officials had to face a lot of opposition from the people of the society before this action.

The people of the society have sat on a dharna against the authority, they say that if the encroachment of the society is to be removed, then the authority will have to take its bulldozer over them.

A woman living in the society said that we are only demanding that we will be given 10 days time to remove the encroachment. We want to resolve this entire issue legally. The people living here do not even know when the bulldozers will run. It is not known when the authority came, when the videos went away. The authority should have been given notice before taking any action. There is nothing illegal in this society. The people of the society have put a sheet on a temporary basis. This sheet has been lying around for ten years.

The authority has even taken money from the ground floor owners for this. I have been living in this society for ten years. Another woman living in the society told NDTV that we did not even get any notice from the authority, nor were we told anything. Also, no officer of the authority has even spoken to the people of the society.
