Uttarakhand : This time the record breaking pilgrims came to the four dhams, on this day the doors of the dhams will be closed for the winter… date announced
In Uttarakhand, it has been announced to close the doors of the four Dhams for the winter. The doors of Badrinath Dham located in Chamoli district will be closed for 3:35 minutes on Saturday, November 19. Whereas, the doors of Gangotri Dham will be closed for devotees on October 26 at 12:01 minutes on the occasion of Ankoot. The doors of Kedarnath located in Rudraprayag district and Yamunotri Dhami located in Uttarkashi district will be closed on the occasion of Bhaiya Dooj.
On October 27, on the auspicious occasion of Bhaiya Dooj, the doors of the world famous Yamunotri Dham will be closed for six months with Vedic chants.
On Wednesday, on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra by the pilgrim priests, a duly fixed Muhurta to close the doors of Yamunotri Dham. On Wednesday, in the presence of Suresh Uniyal, Secretary of Yamunotri Temple Committee and President of Panch Panda Purohit Mahasabha, Purushottam Uniyal, the pilgrimage priests of Yamunotri Dham took out a Muhurta to close the doors of Yamunotri Dham on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra.
On the auspicious occasion of Bhai Dooj, on October 27, 2022 at 12:09 pm, the doors of Yamunotri Dham will be closed for six months for the winter season with due worship on the auspicious occasion of Sarva Siddhi Yoga, Abhijeet Muhurta. In winter, devotees coming from country and abroad will be able to see Mother Yamuna for six months in her winter stay at Khushimath (Kharsali).
After which, on the holy festival of Akshaya Tritiya, the doors of Maa Yamuna will be duly opened again for the summer period at Yamunotri Dham. Yamunotri Temple Committee Secretary Suresh Uniyal, Panch Panda Purohit Mahasabha President Purushottam Uniyal, Lakhan Uniyal, Amit Uniyal, Satchidanand Uniyal, Ramswaroop Uniyal and Tirth Purohit were present during the muhurat of closing the doors of Yamunotri Dham.
Broken record of pilgrims
The record of pilgrims visiting the four dhams including Badrinath, Kedarnath is broken. This year in 2022 so far more than 38 lakh pilgrims have reached the dhams to have darshan. 1443174 pilgrims visited Badrinath Dham open from 8th May till 3rd October. Whereas, 1323949 devotees have visited Kedarnath Dham open from May 6 till October 3.
In Yamunotri Dham and Gangotri Dham, open from May 3, 456885 and 580170 pilgrims have visited respectively.
