Union Home Minister Amit Shah held an online meeting on Natural Agriculture and Digital Agriculture Mission, CM Dhami did virtual participation


Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami did virtual participation from Nainital Club in a meeting organized under the chairmanship of Home and Cooperation Minister, Government of India Amit Shah on the program related to Natural Agriculture and Digital Agriculture Mission. Virtual participation was done by Chief Ministers and Agriculture Ministers of various states in the meeting. Participating in the virtual program from Nainital, Chief Minister Dhami said that with the aim of promoting the possibilities related to natural agriculture, organic churning is being done today. Such an elixir will be obtained from this churning which will prove helpful in opening new doors of possibilities in the field of organic agriculture. He said that Uttarakhand is naturally a suitable state for traditional agriculture. Uttarakhand is a state of biodiversity. Due to biodiversity, Uttarakhand has immense potential in the field of herbs and aromatic plants etc., on which work is being done by the state government and more work is needed.
The Chief Minister said that our farmers are bringing in increase in the productivity of land and production of crops by incorporating modern technical knowledge in the traditional agriculture prevalent in the hilly region. If these efforts of farmers are given a little more emphasis from the government level, unprecedented changes can be brought about in the income of farmers and their standard of living. It is the effort of the state government to increase the business prospects for the farmers doing organic farming so that more and more farmers can empower their economy by adopting organic agriculture.
Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami said that out of the total cultivable land of the state, 2.17 lakh hectare area has been covered under organic agriculture and this area is 34 percent of the total agricultural land. To promote agriculture, a provision of 10 crores has been made this year. Apart from this, Pratikriti Krishi is starting Namami Ganga Corridor with Rs 5 crore. With this scheme, natural farming will be encouraged within a radius of 5 km on the banks of the Ganges. We are forming 2 dedicated FPOs for the marketing of Natural Agriculture Products. This will be done by the Cooperation Department. Along with this, “Atmanirbhar Natural Farmer Board” is being formed to promote all aspects of natural farming. The scheme of “Govardhan” is being integrated with “Prakritik Krishi Yojana” for better production. The Chief Minister said that natural farming courses are also being started in both the agricultural universities of the state.
The Chief Minister said that in order to promote natural farming, farmers have been trained in natural farming in all the districts of the state. Apart from this, special workshops are also being organized for the farmers. They are being linked with schemes made for organic agriculture. The Chief Minister said that the demand for natural agricultural products is increasing not only in the country but across the world. It is the endeavor of the state government that maximum benefit should be given to the farmers of the state. On this occasion MLA Sarita Arya, Ram Singh Kaida, District Panchayat President Bela Tolia, District President Pradeep Bisht, Secretary Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam, DIG Kumaon Nilesh Anand Bharne, District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal, SSP Pankaj Bhatt, Chief Development Officer Dr. Sandeep Tiwari, Additional District Magistrate Ashok Joshi, Shivcharan Dwivedi, besides Mandal President, councilors, other public representatives and officials were present.
