Uttarakhand : 16 bodies recovered so far, bad weather hampered the rescue operation

The rescue team could not reach the mountaineers trapped in the crevice after the accident in Draupadi Danda-Two of the district. Five more bodies have been taken out from here today. Due to bad weather in Draupadi Danda, the rescue work has been stopped for the time being. Light snowfall started here. During the morning rescue, the search and rescue team with the help of helicopter has so far transported the bodies of nine people to the Advance Base Camp. So far 16 bodies have been recovered in the accident. The bodies recovered include the bodies of two trainers and 14 trainees. While 13 climbers are still missing.
According to the Uttarkashi Emergency Operation Center, only two bodies have been identified out of the recovered bodies, which are female trainers of Nim. According to ITBP PRO Vivek Pandey, the advanced helipad built at high altitude, helicopters have been dispatched for rescue work. Deadbodies are present at the base, some of them are expected to be brought down today.

Light snowfall started. Due to which the district administration had to stop the rescue work. DM Abhishek Ruhela told that the rescue work has been stopped. In such a situation, it is very difficult to start the rescue work again on Thursday. SP Arpan Yaduvanshi is facing problems due to the weather. It may be noted that a group of 44 mountaineers of the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, who went out for training in the high Himalayan region, came under the grip of an avalanche near Draupadi’s Danda 2 mountain peak on Tuesday morning.
