Uttarakhand : CM Dhami held a meeting regarding women’s safety and women’s empowerment, gave these instructions to the officers

Taking a meeting at the Secretariat, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officers to pay special attention to women’s empowerment along with the safety of women in the state. Women are associated with employment and self-employment in greater numbers, all departments have to make efforts in this direction. In the direction of women empowerment and women safety, efforts should be made in the state in such a way that the message of Devbhoomi goes across the country. The Chief Minister gave these instructions to the officers during the meeting of women workers’ safety and empowerment. The Chief Minister directed the officers that a concrete plan should be made at the departmental level also for the safety of women workers. Police help desk and helpline number 112 should be further strengthened. Under the rules, the women who have the provision of maternity leave, it should be ensured that all women get these facilities as per the rules. Help desks should be made for women in institutions also. The Chief Minister said that such arrangements should be made that arrangements should be made for the registration of women working in various institutions. For this, a system should be developed by the police, labor and related departments.

There should be regular meetings of the committee constituted at the district level to prevent harassment of women. For effective redressal of complaints of sexual harassment at work place, general public should be made aware about She Box (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box), it should be given wide publicity. The Chief Minister said that all departments should work with team spirit. Everyone needs to pay attention in this direction to improve the functioning of their respective departments. He said that more effective efforts are needed to stop child labour. In the meeting, DIG Senthil Abudai Krishnaraj S made a presentation of the proposed one stop solution app. Through one stop solution app, women working in organized and unorganized sector in the state will be able to register themselves at the time of appointment. Along with working women, industrial institutions, factories and employers will also be encouraged to get their women workers and workers registered in one stop solution app.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, DGP Ashok Kumar, ADG (Law and Order) V. Murugesan, Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Deependra Choudhary, H. C. Semwal, IG Vimala Gunjyal, DIG Senthil Abudai Krishnaraj S., Additional  Secretary Anand Srivastava, Deepti Singh, Atar Singh, JC Kandpal and concerned departmental officers were present.
