The contest for the post of Congress President is fixed. No candidate has withdrawn his name for the post of President. Senior leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor are the candidates in this election. The deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended on Saturday evening. Talking to the media after the withdrawal of nominations in the presidential election, Madhusudan Mistry, chairman of the party’s election authority, said that there are two candidates in the election. Since neither of them has withdrawn, the voting will be held on 17th and counting of votes will take place on 19th October.

Voting will be done by secret ballot. The result will be declared on the day of counting of votes. When asked about the delegates involved in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Mistry said party general secretary Jairam Ramesh has sent him a letter.

In this note, he has written the names of those delegates who want to vote during the Yatra. That’s why we have decided that from here we will send the ballot in a sealed cover and a booth will be made there. After the completion of voting, the ballot box will be brought here after the completion of voting. Emphasizing on giving equal opportunity to both the candidates to campaign in the elections, Mistry said that the guidelines have been issued. A complaint has been received about not getting equal opportunity. We are trying to solve that.

Rahul said – both the leaders are strong
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday dismissed fears that the Gandhi family may remotely control the next president of the party. He said Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor, both the candidates who are contesting for the post of president, are strong and intelligent people.

Responding to a question, Rahul said that both the people who contested for the president’s election are strong and well-understood persons. I don’t think any of them are remote controlled (party chief). To be honest, these things are being said to humiliate him.

Rahul further said that spreading hatred and violence is an anti-national act. We will fight everyone involved. We are opposing the new education policy, as it is distorting our history and traditions. We want a decentralized education system. The Congress leader said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is not for the 2024 elections. Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that he believes in penance, which is his nature.
