Uttarakhand : Bharatiya Kisan Union officials met CM Dhami, talked about farmers’ problems

The office bearers of the Bharatiya Kisan Union met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Secretariat on Monday. The office bearers of Bharatiya Kisan Union apprised the Chief Minister about the problems of the farmers and requested for their proper solution. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that most of the population of Uttarakhand is dependent on agriculture and allied activities. Many schemes are being run by the state government in the interest of the people working in the field of agriculture and horticulture. Along with agriculture, horticulture, medicinal products are being promoted. Loans up to Rs.3 lakh to farmers and Rs.5 lakh to women self-help groups are being provided without interest. Work has been started in 3900 organic clusters to promote organic farming. The “Farm Machinery Bank” scheme has been started to provide agricultural equipment to the farmers. Up to 80 percent subsidy is being provided for this. He said that the State Government is determined to provide all possible facilities to the farmers.

On this occasion, National President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Rajesh Chauhan, spokesperson Chaudhary Dharmendra Malik, Ravinder Singh Rana, Salwinder Singh Kalsi, Rajbir Singh, Vikram Singh Goraya, Karmjit Singh and Jagpal Singh were present.
