The sixth edition of Valley of Words will be held in Dehradun, this time the Information and Culture Department of the Uttarakhand government will also be a partner

The sixth edition of Valley of Words will be held in Dehradun on November 12-13. This is the first time that the Department of Information and Culture, Government of Uttarakhand will also be participating in the event. The Valley of Words will have 100 authors, 40 sessions and 10 book release attractions this time. This information was given by Special Principal Secretary Information Abhinav Kumar and retired IAS Sanjeev Chopra at a press conference held at Uttaranchal Press Club. He informed that the Valley of Words will be inaugurated by Uttarakhand Governor Retired Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh while Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also be present. On November 13, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan will be the chief guest. He said that this event is being held continuously in Dehradun for the last 5 years. This time, after the consent of the Chief Minister, the Uttarakhand government is also a partner in it. Uttarakhand’s film policy will also be discussed during the Valley of Words, he said. At present, suggestions have been invited regarding this policy.

Special Principal Secretary Abhinav Kumar said that the film policy will be finalized within a couple of months. So far, the focus was on outdoor shooting, but now the effort is that every aspect related to the film such as writing, photography, cinematography etc. should be here. There will also be various activities such as dance performances, counselling programmes during valley of words. He said that it is our entire effort that the Valley of Words of Dehradun gets recognition as the best literature festival in the country as soon as possible. Apart from this, Russian and Israeli books will also be discussed during this program
