Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected President of District Panchayat Haridwar Rajendra Singh and Vice President Amit Kumar held at Bhalla Inter College Ground on Tuesday. In the presence of the Chief Minister, District Magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey administered the oath of office and secrecy to the President and Vice President of the District Panchayat, while the District Panchayat President Rajendra Singh administered the oath of office and secrecy to the other Panchayat members. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated Plastic Waste Recycling Plant at Mujahidpur Satiwala, Bhagwanpur Haridwar at a cost of Rs.6 crore. On this occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated and extended best wishes to all the newly elected Panchayat representatives. Expressing his gratitude to the people of Haridwar, he said that this victory of the panchayat public representatives is the beginning of a new chapter of development in Haridwar district. The Chief Minister called upon all the elected District Panchayat members, Kshetra Panchayat members and other representatives to carry forward the development work according to the aspirations of the people. He said that Panchayat representatives directly act as a bridge between the government and the people and they have an important role in development.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that our government will identify Haridwar as a model district, for this, attention is being paid to development of tourism facilities and to operate infrastructure and employment-oriented schemes in Haridwar. He said that apart from being the spiritual center of the entire country and the world, lakhs of people are also getting employment through industries here and this development journey of the government is a collective journey of all. He said that all the Panchayat representatives would brainstorm for the development of their area so that Haridwar could become an ideal and best district. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is progressing continuously under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The work culture of Transform, Reform and Perform is being seen across the country. He said that the schemes of the Central and State Governments are focused on connecting the person standing at the last end of the society with the mainstream. He said that during the COVID period, the world’s largest vaccination campaign was conducted in India. During this time, India also did the work of giving vaccine to neighboring countries and made 200 million vaccines available to different countries.

Referring to the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the Chief Minister said that free ration is being distributed to crores of families under this scheme. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are moving towards making Uttarakhand the best state of the country. Haridwar MP Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ called it historic for Haridwar district when all the representatives were elected unopposed. He said that this historic victory of Haridwar district is a stamp put by the people on the development works being carried out under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that Chief Minister Dhami is shedding the Ganga of development in the entire state. While congratulating the newly elected representatives, Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj said that they will always stand shoulder to shoulder with everyone to take forward the journey of development.
