Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif shot dead in Kenya, claims wife
Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif has reportedly died after being shot in Kenya. His wife Javeria Siddiqui confirmed this in the early hours of Monday morning. On the other hand, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry has not yet confirmed the matter. However, local outlets in Kenya claim that Arshad Sharif was shot due to ‘misidentification’.
According to Pakistan’s prestigious newspaper Dawn, on Monday Javeria Siddiqui, wife of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif, tweeted, “I lost my friend, husband and my favorite journalist (Arshad Sharif) today, according to police he was shot in Kenya.” was given.”
On the other hand, Foreign Office spokesman Asim Iftikhar said that more information is being gathered from the officials of the High Commission of Pakistan in Kenya. Officials in both countries, however, have not yet confirmed the death of the journalist. Some Pakistani media outlets initially said that Sharif was shot, but later said that he died in an accident.
However, later Sharif’s wife tweeted that the journalist had been shot dead. Meanwhile, Kenyan media quoted local police as saying that Sharif was shot by police over a “misidentification”. It said the incident took place on the Nairobi-Magadi highway on Sunday night.
