Uttar Pradesh / Barabanki : Wife not found at home, husband lodged FIR against neighbor, accused of kidnapping

A person has lodged an FIR against his neighbor in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. In the FIR, he has alleged that the neighbor has taken his wife away and forced her to convert. Asandra’s Station House Officer (SHO) Nitesh Srivastava said they have received a complaint from a man named Sunil Kumar, alleging that his wife has gone somewhere with her neighbor Sohail Khan and is missing since October 19.

FIR has been registered in three cases

Police said Sunil also said in his complaint that he suspected Sohail was forcing his wife to convert. Sunil said in his FIR that he was informed by some villagers that he was last seen by Sohail while taking him to the ‘mazar’. Police said an FIR has been registered for forcing a woman into marriage, kidnapping and under the UP Prohibition of Conversion Act.

Police is searching for the accused

Sunil had earlier also alleged that Sohail had kidnapped his wife on September 17, but he got timely information and intervened so he was able to save his wife. Sunil further alleged that when he returned from work on October 19, his wife was not found. He also called his parents and his other relatives but there was no trace of him. After this, on October 22, he filed a case. The SHO said that the search is on for the accused and the woman.
