Due to the fierce fireworks on Diwali, the climate of the capital Dehradun has become dangerous. The Air Quality Index has crossed 300. Apart from Dehradun, the pollution level has also become dangerous in many major cities including Haridwar, Rishikesh, Rudrapur, Kashipur, Roorkee. In cities like Haridwar, Kashipur, Haldwani, Rudrapur along with the capital Doon, the climate of all these cities including the capital had started deteriorating even before Diwali. According to the report of the State Pollution Control Board, the Air Quality Index (AQI) figure in Ghantaghar had reached 131.

According to experts, it will take three to four days for the pollution level to return to normal. Haridwar has also registered presence among the most polluted cities ahead of Diwali. According to the board’s report, a day before Diwali, the AQI figure in Haridwar reached 168, which was a matter of concern. The experts of the State Pollution Control Board kept an eye on the pollution level due to fireworks during Diwali. Board member secretary SP Subuddhi said that monitoring of pollution was being done, in which the help of private company experts was also taken.

Apart from Dehradun, monitoring of pollution levels has been done in all cities like Haridwar, Kashipur, Haldwani, Rudrapur, Rishikesh, Roorkee, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital. The report of which is being sent to the Central Pollution. He said that during the fireworks on Monday, along with the pollution level, the level of noise pollution was also monitored, for which necessary instructions were issued to the experts.
