Trump returns after 21 months
After January 6, 2021, when Trump’s account was suspended, he had more than 88 million followers. The account has been activated again after 21 months at around 06.30 am on Sunday. Within 50 minutes of account restoration, Trump had more than one million followers.
Although it is not yet clear whether the former President will be active on Twitter again. This is because in the past, he had said that he has no plans to come on Twitter and has also made his own social media platform Truth Social.


Trump’s account was suspended in 2021
After the Capitol Hill violence in 2021, Donald Trump called his supporters who committed violence on Twitter as revolutionaries. After this he had said that he would not go to the Presidential Inauguration (Biden’s swearing-in) to be held on January 20, 2021. Taking action on this, Twitter suspended his account forever.

In the past, during the Twitter deal, Elon Musk insisted on activating such accounts along with Trump, which have been banned for various reasons. Musk has always described himself as a big supporter of free speech. Even when Twitter banned former US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk had said that he wanted to improve the platform.

Some time ago Donald Trump said that he is not returning to Twitter. In an interview to Fox News, Trump had said, “I will stick to my social media platform Truth.” During this, while praising Musk, Donald Trump said that he is a good man and he hopes that he will improve Twitter.
These companies also suspended Trump’s account
Donald Trump was also suspended by Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Twitch and other internet companies. Musk’s decision could also make it easier for other major social media platforms like Facebook to reinstate Trump. Facebook’s parent company Meta said it would reconsider its decision in January 2023.
