The trial court’s decision was challenged

Vikram Saini had filed a petition in the High Court against the special court sentencing him for two years. The single bench of Justice Samit Gopal had approved the regular bail.

Vikram Saini was elected MLA from Khatauli seat of Muzaffarnagar district on a BJP ticket. On October 11, the Special Court of Muzaffarnagar convicted Vikram Saini and sentenced him to two years. Due to the punishment of 2 years, his membership of the assembly was canceled on 4 November.
