894 crore approved for 55 projects in Uttarakhand, money will have to be spent within a year
The Central Government has approved an amount of Rs 894 crore under the Special Assistance Scheme for capital investment in Uttarakhand. This amount will be spent on 55 projects related to public facilities including roads, buildings, hospitals, medical colleges, bus terminals. Of the approved projects, 39 are new. Funds have also been arranged for the rest of the ongoing schemes.
Anjali Maurya, Assistant Director, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has sent a letter in this regard to Additional Chief Secretary Finance, Anand Bardhan. The state government had sent a proposal of about 1418 crores for 76 projects. Rs 894 crore has been released in the first phase. The funds sanctioned under the scheme will have to be spent within one year.

Road widening, drainage and footpath from Aaraghar to Rispana bridge: 6 crore, Mehunwala Primary School 5.25 crore for motorway widening, Satyakhal Dehalchauri, 12.41 crore for Arkani motorway repair work, 12.40 crore for Ghudwari-Devprayag motorway, Lachhmoli Jamnikhal motorway 14 crore, Rs 5.54 crore for Hindolakhal-Devprayag-Bilkhet highway, Rs 9.69 crore for asphalting of Rudraprayag-Gopeshwar motorway has been released.

Ramnagar Bus Terminal, Araghar-Rispana Pul Road, Almora Medical College, Champawat Integrated Nursing College.

Interest will not have to be paid for 50 years
The Central Government has started a scheme called Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment in the year 2022-23. Under this scheme, the financial assistance released under the capital investment to the state government has been provided in the form of 50-year interest-free loans.
