Holiday in all government schools of Delhi today, studies will be online on December 5

It has been decided to keep all government schools in Delhi closed on Saturday in view of the preparations for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections to be held on December 4 in Delhi. This information has been given in a circular issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE), Government of Delhi. The DoE circular issued on Friday said, “Heads of all government schools of the Directorate of Education are informed that December 3 is declared a holiday in schools in view of polling preparations for Delhi MCD Elections 2022.”

Holiday will be compensated on December 10
In the circular issued by the Directorate of Education, it has been said that to compensate for this holiday, classes will be held on the second Saturday i.e. December 10 as before. According to the circular, the heads of the schools are also directed to spread information about this among the students, staff members, SMC members and parents. It may be known that the elections for 250 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi are to be held on December 4, while the counting of votes will take place on December 7.

Classes will be conducted online
According to news agency IANS, the schools under the MCD will remain closed on December 5, the next day of the elections. However, 90 percent of the teachers will be deployed for election duty, while the remaining teachers will conduct online classes.

School closed on the next day of election
In a notification, the education department of the MCD said, “Keeping in view the long hours posted on election duty, the next day of polling will also be considered as the period of election duty.” During this, keeping in view the deployment of about 90 percent staff of the schools in the elections, all the schools will remain closed on December 5, the next day of the elections. However, during this time the classes will be conducted by the teachers through online mode.
