Police have registered a case of molestation and rape against the medical officer in connection with the harassment of a girl student at Govind Vallabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. The investigation has been given to woman inspector Manju Pandey.
Police arrested the doctor accused of sexually abusing a girl student at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology on Monday late evening.
After a week, the police registered an FIR against the accused doctor for rape, molestation and death threats. On Monday morning, hundreds of students of the university staged a protest at the university gate demanding the arrest of the accused.
Complaint letter was handed over alleging harassment
According to the information, on December 5, a student of the university had submitted a complaint letter to the Medical Officer Dr. Durgesh Kumar alleging harassment. In which the investigation was done by the committee.
Based on the report of the Internal Complaints Committee for Gender Sensitization Prevention and Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students Committee constituted at the college level, the medical officer Dr. Durgesh Kumar was prima facie found guilty. After which the medical officer was suspended. The medical officer was accused of rape and molestation.
On Sunday, the victim student submitted a complaint to the medical officer at the Pant Nagar police station alleging rape and molestation. The victim said that on December 5, 2022, her condition was not good and BP was low. Along with this, the thyroid had increased and there was pain in the stomach due to the problem of indigestion. So she went to the University Hospital Pantnagar.
During this, the medical officer molested her during the examination. Threatened that if he told anyone, he would ruin his life. Police Station Officer Pantnagar Rajendra Singh Dangi said that on the complaint of the girl student, a case has been registered against Dr. Durgesh Kumar of GB Pant University Hospital under sections 376, 376(2)(d), 376(2)(f), 354 and 506. have taken.
Told that the arrest of the accused medical officer was pressed, but he could not be found. Told that he is being searched, will be arrested soon.
