Mamta Banerjee has appointed Abhishek Burnjee as election in-charge of Meghalaya during a party meeting in Shillong.

Please tell that Abhishek Banerjee is in charge of expansion plans of Trinamool. This is not the first time that the Trinamool Congress has stepped outside West Bengal. Earlier, TMC had contested elections in Goa. But the recent attempt of this party there was not successful.
TMC “outsider” or “Bengali party” at all
During the meeting, Mamata Banerjee also denied calling TMC an “outsider” or a “Bengali party”. TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee said at workers’ meeting in Shillong, “There is a news or rumor that Trinamool Congress is a Bengali party. If the All India Trinamool Congress is a Bengali party, then why do you call the song “Vande Mataram” written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay as the national song? He is also from Bengal. But this song is the national song for the whole country.” He said, ‘My party’s name is not West Bengal Trinamool Congress. Its name is All India Trinamool Congress.’
Rabindranath Tagore was also remembered
Mamta Banerjee also remembered world poet Guru Rabindranath Tagore. He said, ‘Kavi Guru visited Meghalaya many times. This was his favorite place. The national anthem “Jana-Gana-Mana” was written by Rabindranath Tagore and is now sung all over India. The slogan of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is ‘Jai Hind’. Can you say he was only Bengali? Mother Teresa won her Nobel Prize from Kolkata. Can you say he is a Bengali? Why are we divided on the basis of caste, on the basis of religion? Let’s work together,”
Explained the meaning of “Trinamool”
He said that the word “Trinamool” means “grassroots level”. He told the party cadres that you cannot survive without block leaders. You cannot survive without volunteers. You cannot survive without grassroots workers.”
Let us tell you that in the assembly elections held in February this year in Goa, Mamta Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) could not even open its account despite spending Rs 47.54 crore. At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which retained power under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, spent Rs 17.75 crore in the elections.
