Shanti Devi, a resident of Shivpur Shahbazganj under Gulriha police station area of Gorakhpur, has been a teacher at the city’s prestigious Ayodhya Das Government Girls Inter College. Her husband Ram Dulare Mishra was a teacher in Kushinagar’s Bodarwar Inter College, he died 10 years ago. Husband and wife had built a house in 1988 in Shivpur Shahbazganj. Troubled by Nikhil’s antics, the tenants have also vacated the house. Nikhil is the only child of the parents. After many vows, Nikhil was born after 14 years of marriage. The people of the locality told that Shanti Devi is not even visible outside the house since four-five days. His son Nikhil Mishra, 45, is a drug addict. He told that he has been beating his wife, because of which she went to her maternal home 15 days ago.
Son Nikhil was not delaying cooking anything to his mother for many days. He used to take eggs or other food items and eat them himself. Shanti Devi was not visible outside the house for the last four-five days. On Tuesday morning, the local people informed the police about the stench. After this, the police recovered Shanti Devi’s body from under the bed. She has been a teacher in Ayodhya Das Government Girls Inter College. He told that his son is also mentally deranged. Along with this, he is also addicted to drugs. According to the people of the locality, when the police reached the house, his body was lying under the bed and there was a strong foul smell.
SP North of Gorakhpur, Manoj Kumar Awasthi told that the people of the locality informed about the foul smell of jaggery coming from a house in Shivpur Sahbajganj locality of Gulriha police station area. On reaching there, the body of an 80-year-old woman was found lying under the bed. His son Nikhil Mishra alias Dabboo who is 45 years old has been present in the house. The son told that there was no money for the last rites of the mother, that is why he did not inform anyone about the death of the mother. The son of the deceased is addicted to drugs. His wife has already gone to her maternal home with her son 15 days ago. The police has sent the body for postmortem after doing the panchnama of the dead body. The SP told that only after the post-mortem it would be known whether he died a natural death or what was the reason for his death.
