New Delhi / Yamunapur: CCTV was monitoring, only one hour after delivery, the nanny stole the newborn from the hospital!
A moment of joy turned tense for a couple at Yamunapar’s biggest hospital. Here the child was stolen from the labor room just an hour after delivery. When the family came to know, they started a ruckus. On information, the police reached the spot. A search was started nearby. But the child was not found. On the complaint of the family, the police started the investigation by registering an FIR. The CCTV footage installed in the hospital was scanned. In this, a middle-aged woman was seen carrying a child. The nurse of the labor room told during interrogation that she had described herself as the nanny of the child.
Thursday night delivery
Karthik Sharma, who lives in Seemapuri, told that he had admitted his wife Pooja to GTB Hospital last Thursday with labor pain. Three times Pooja was sent to the ward as the operation theater was not empty at night. Took him to the labor room at one o’clock on Friday afternoon. After this the operation took place. But we were not informed about this. I was sitting outside with my mother and grandmother. At two o’clock when I reached the lady guard posted outside the labor room to find out, she took me inside.
The family didn’t even know
I was told that it is a boy. He was given to his grandmother. She has taken him to the nursery. While the child’s grandmother was not here. When we reached the nursery, we came to know that the newborn was admitted here but after 15 minutes the woman took him away. The family alleges that she stole the child with the connivance of the female guard. After this other family members also reached the hospital. Uproar started here. The hospital administration tried to explain but then the police had to be called. The police have extracted several footages of the CCTV installed here. Half of the woman’s face was visible in it. It is also learned that she took the child out of the hospital through gate number seven. The female guard has also been seen conversing with him. Police officers say that the accused is being searched.
Conspired and executed the incident
The child-kidnapping woman had come here with full preparation. She was standing outside the labor room for a long time. When Pooja went inside, she introduced herself to the guard as his mother. She told her name as Heena. Not only this, he himself got the child’s card made for admission in the nursery. He put his signature on it.
Five member committee constituted
The hospital administration has also constituted a five-member committee to probe the negligence in this matter. The committee constituted under the chairmanship of Medical Director Dr. Subhash Giri will probe the negligence and also point out the lapses. Will also suggest measures for improvement.
